Excited to announce our new partnership with British Gas

The team contacted us regarding their ‘Newly Accredited Gas Engineer positions’, as they’d recruited several of our students into engineering roles at British Gas in the past. They asked if we had any current students who were ready to sit their ACS qualifications who would be suitable for their vacancies. Much to our advantage, we had a long list of candidates perfect for the positions available so we started to send them more and more candidates’ details- many of whom were offered full-time positions after completing their extensive interview process.

Following the succession of these numerous hires, we got back in touch with the team again in January 2022 to ask if we could arrange a site visit with one of their recruitment leads, to discuss the possibility of British Gas collaborating with us to make our current students aware of the employment opportunities at the company. Fortunately, this was successful and a meeting was arranged with recruitment lead Daniel Crossley. 

All it took was one meeting. After attending our centre, Daniel was extremely impressed with our facilities and the lengths we go to, to ensure our candidates are not only safe but also competent and employable Gas Engineers. He also mentioned the setup of our gas bays reminded him a lot of the training he initially received at British Gas.

After we met with Daniel, it was clear that there was an excellent opportunity from which we would both benefit enormously. We established that Brookhouse could provide British Gas with the quality work placement candidates they need in their historically hard to recruit areas, and our students would get the chance to gain experience with a company of British Gas’ stature. Win-win! 

In this exciting meeting, we figured the work placement would be viewed as a ‘working job interview’, and successful candidates would be offered either a full-time service and repair or installation position.

After a couple of months of management meetings, British Gas were finally able to get the liability/compliance measures in place and from April 21st, 2022, Brookhouse is proud to announce an exciting partnership with the largest energy and home services company in the UK.
