What will I learn?
- Health and safety in building services engineering (BSE)
- Common plumbing processes
- Domestic cold-water systems
- Domestic hot-water systems
- Electrical principles and processes for BSE
- Sanitation and above ground drainage (AGD)
- Bathroom installation including bath, basin, WC, radiators and central heating pipework
- Water supply (water fittings) regulations
- Domestic hot water storage systems (unvented)
This comprehensive course covers the knowledge and understanding required by someone working in the plumbing industry. The qualification covers a wide range of subjects including pipework fabrication techniques, domestic hot and cold water systems, bathroom installations, and electrical systems within building services engineering.
Level 2 Plumbing course for new entrants inc. WRAS (Water Regulations) & Unvented Hot Water Systems
Subjects include:
- Understand health and safety in building services environment
- Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering
- Understand scientific principles within the plumbing and heating industry
- Understand pipework fabrication processes and techniques used for plumbing and heating systems
- Understand and apply domestic cold water system installation and maintenance techniques
- Understand and apply domestic hot water system installation and maintenance techniques
- Understand and apply domestic central heating system installation and maintenance techniques
- Understand and apply domestic above ground drainage system installation and maintenance techniques
- Understand electrical systems within building services engineering
In addition to the Level 2 Diploma, we also include the 2 following qualifications:
- LCL Awards Water Regulations (WRAS)
- LCL Awards Hot Water Systems and Safety (Unvented)
Level 2 NVQ Diploma in the Installation & Maintenance of Plumbing & Heating Systems
Following successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma in the Installation & Maintenance of Plumbing & Heating Systems, candidates can then progress onto the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in the Installation & Maintenance of Plumbing & Heating Systems to complete the relevant onsite assessments. Prior to completing work onsite, candidates will be required to attend Brookhouse’s centre for a 3-day induction.

- Understand and apply domestic above ground drainage system installation and maintenance techniques
- Install and maintain domestic plumbing and heating systems
