GAS Trainer, ACS Assessor & Internal Verifier

Steve Rosher

Background

Before he joined us, Steve worked in the police for 14 years where he gained his teaching and assessor qualifications and subsequently performed numerous roles including Law Trainer, Public Order Trainer and Tactical Advisor and Personal Safety instructor. Following a security sector job in Iraq, Steve moved back to North Wales to work in property development with his father. This prompted him to decide to take on a new path, training with Brookhouse to qualify as a gas engineer.

Steve made extensive enquiries with a number of gas training providers but after thorough analysis, he decided to choose Brookhouse based on the quality of training facilities and the encouraging attitude he could notice straight away. The placement guarantee tipped the scales, as it was the only course that promised a work experience.

Steve had a successful and profitable gas engineering business before being contacted by Brookhouse requesting whether he would be able to cover a six-week course due to staff sickness. After much thought he agreed to run the course and has been here ever since. Passionate about teaching, Steve loves introducing students to the world of plumbing and gas engineering, seeing them progress from no knowledge at all to competent engineers out in the jobs. He keeps in touch with his trainees to see how they are getting on and is always happy to see them in great jobs.

Steve says about Brookhouse:

“I think we go over and above what a lot of other colleges and training establishments do, because of the facilities we’ve got. 2 weeks plumbing, 6 weeks gas – it’s crammed full of knowledge, of legislation they need to know, they get a lot of practical skills while they’re here. The facilities are now fantastic, having gone through a massive investment, the new assessment area is fantastic, but for me the biggest thing that makes Brookhouse stand out is that it’s a small business and that every member of staff and the business cares about the future of our students.”

Steve is an avid Grand Prix fan and attended numerous events – rumour has it in his younger years he used to marshall at those events! One of his biggest interests is property maintenance and development. He renovated numerous properties of his own and assisted his dad in a number of his projects. Steve also enjoys travelling and socialising with friends.

The reason we have the reputation of being the best gas training centre in the UK, we give our students what they need to work competently with gas, not what is easiest and quickest for us to deliver.
