Chris Hayton

Chris has been a Gas Engineer since leaving school – an impressive 22 years and counting in the industry! Previously he worked as a self employed Gas Engineer and Plumber, now bringing a wealth of experience to our students thanks to that.

Chris says: “I applied for the job because I wanted to try something different and help other people come into the trade. I enjoy passing my knowledge onto other people and working as part of a team.”

One of his main hobbies is property development, but when he is not building homes – or careers – he enjoys going to music festivals and prides himself on visiting every major one out there. In his spare time Chris also likes to play golf and can boast the Bradford 9 Hole Championship title for his win in 2015. A big hiking enthusiast, Chris has walked all of the 3 Peaks, Helvellyn via Striding Edge and Snowdon via Crib Goch, though the last two with his eyes closed as he says it was too scary to look. He enjoys travel and is very much looking forward to his bucket-list trip to Iceland next year, hoping to see the Northern Lights.
