The Problem

Jason Ball was only 25 and managing an insurance broking office when he was told that he was too old to begin training as a gas engineer! Not happy with his job he changed his career and went into banking. However, Jason never gave up thinking about retraining and achieving his ambition and in December 2009 he began researching how to become a gas engineer in earnest.

As advised to do by Brookhouse, he spoke to other providers of gas engineering training and although some offered accommodation none of them offered work placements. This made Jason's decision a lot easier to travel north each week to complete his training. The day after Jason signed up for his training Brookhouse secured him a work placement with Carillion.
