What you will learn

On Completion of the Course delegates will be able to;

• Appreciate the legal requirements for risk assessments to be undertaken with reference to general work activity, hazardous substances, manual handling operations, display screen equipment, noise exposure, and fire.
• Understand the implications of the term ‘reasonably practicable’.
• Understand the terminology used including reference to hazard, risk, danger, competent person, Approved Code of Practice.
• Understand the purpose of Risk Assessment in terms of the identification of hazards, risk levels, probable outcomes and the establishment of the hierarchy of control measures.
• Understand the difference between preventative and protective control measures.
• Apply techniques for undertaking, recording and reviewing a range of risk assessments.
